Impro Comedy Workshops
"I really like improv now." — Teanna (16).
"Be prepared to have lots and lots of fun." — Young Person (17).
For beginners, advanced players, impro troupes and organisations brave enough to book her.
Impro — short for improvisational comedy — is spontaneous, unscripted performance built on deep listening, presence, and saying "yes and...". It is collaborative, playful and occasionally chaotic. Mona considers this a selling point.
Rooted in the tradition of Keith Johnstone and Viola Spolin — one of the babas and mamas of impro — and informed by training across three continents, including a 5-week intensive at iO Theatre Chicago. Also significantly influenced by Egyptian social culture, where impro has been the national sport since long before anyone wrote a book about it.
All workshops available in English and Norwegian. Some workshops available in (Egyptian) Arabic upon request. All levels welcome unless otherwise stated. Bespoke formats available on request.
Introduction to Impro
(Beginner)
Never done impro before? Perfect.
This workshop introduces the core principles of improvisational comedy — saying yes, listening deeply, being present, and the beautiful chaos of not knowing what happens next.
No experience needed. No script. It is not as scary as it sounds. Enjoy the collaborative, playful and radical act of making things up together.
By the end of the session participants will have:
A solid understanding of core impro principles
Experienced the freedom of unscripted performance
Laughed considerably more than expected
Wondered why they didn't start sooner
Open to absolute beginners. Available for groups, organisations and individuals. Delivered in English or Norwegian or (Egyptian )Arabic.
British-born
