Written and performed by Mona Abdel-Fadil, "Dr. Daffodil Goes Occidental!" uses satire, character work and absurdist humour to expose the absurdity of ethnocentrism and question who holds the power to define expertise and "the other". MENA has been under that microscope for centuries, now it's WENA's turn.

The show unfolds as a satirical lecture — a rigorous academic crash course on Western Europe and North America (WENA), illustrated live on stage with Dr Daffodil´s own gloriously simple black and white drawings. The Nordics — and Norway in particular— serve as a point of departure for the analysis of Western culture, mentality, and self-image. The illustrations are childlike. The observations are not.

Expect laughter, discomfort, and a few uncomfortable truths dressed up in very good jokes.
